      As conventional methanol synthesis process from CO2 required high temperature and pressure, the main aim of this thesis to produce methanol at low temperatures and low pressure. For this, a three-phase methanol synthesis process is used. The main goal of this thesis to the start-up of a pilot plant for this innovative methanol synthesis process developed at DBI Gas- und Umwelttechnik GmbH. After construction and commissioning testing of the pilot plant, methanol synthesis experiments at low pressure and low temperature are performed. The absorption of CO2 in liquid has shown satisfactory results. However, the reaction process performed at 20, 30, and 40 bar did convert the absorbed CO2 into methanol in a small quantity. Nevertheless, this process may have the potential to yield the methanol at high pressure. Show less
