    • Kibo

      Sept 2016 - Dec 2016
      Technical Trainer

My main role was to train both newly hired software engineers and client developers in how to use the company's ecommerce software. Specifically, I went over editing the database through programs such as SQL Developer, and using programs such as Mongo for database refreshing and Tomcat for site startup. Furthermore, I went over how to use the administration tools of Kibo's ecommerce platform once a site was set up and how to use REST APIs with a running site. In addition, I spent time improving the company's training materials and training process. I updated old training documents for the company, created some new training documents to cover missing information in the process, and worked on new training presentations. I also spent time completing a script in Python which automated much of the ecommerce site setup process so that more time in the training sessions could be devoted towards how to use the company's ecommerce platform rather than spend a large amount of time to just get machines setup to the point where they could run a site. Duties: I work in 2nd line support for the EDM (Enterprise Database Management) product. My primary duty is assisting clients with issues or queries with the EDM product via our JIRA ticketing system, emails, and calls. I additionally support clients whose databases we host, resolving live production issues in their environments. I work with our development team regularly by building out replication cases for product issues. I also have limited exposure to production code updates. I am a Team Lead and assist the other members of the team with complex or priority issues. Additionally, I have recently become the reporting manager for a recent graduate on our team.Experience:EDM I have learned how to use the EDM product in this position and am proficient in its basic and advanced applications.Management In my 4th year I gained team-lead responsibilities by holding one-to-one calls with other team members and assisting on high priority or complicated tickets. In my 5th year I gained the responsibility as the reporting manager of a graduate hire, gaining experience with the onboarding process as well as the tasks involved in managing someone directly under me.SQL I have become very proficient with SQL and use it daily through both queries in EDM and making direct SQL updates via SQL Server Management Studio.Development (C#, Visual Studio, GitLab) I have limited experience with the development process for our product and have actioned some product updates in the code (using visual studio to update the C# code and committing the changes to the appropriate branch via git). This was not one of my main job responsibilities however and was performed as opportunity allowed for minor changes. JIRA I worked with JIRA for our ticketing system and am well-acquainted with how to use it, including creating advanced filters and dashboards. Show less
