  Active member International Committee for Education

  Since November 2011 I'm active member in the International Committee for Education (ICE). I've worked on strategy-development, policy-making, knowledge management and e-learning. Result: As an Erasmus Expert I've developed the strategy of Education Officers in ESN and strengthened advocacy on national level with this team; I contribute to official ESN position papers to the European Commission and to development of the Network by for example setting up E-Learning courses for our members. Former National Board member as the first Educational Officer (EO) to build expertise on HE and advocate for Student Mobility and international students. EOs are experts in their country on European HE and the Erasmus Programme. Result: I succesfully built a strong foundation for future EOs and have set up good relations with our NA (Nuffic), National Student Union & Council (LSVb, ISO) and other HE stakeholders. I've involved ESN NL in the 'Make it in the Netherlands' project by the Ministry of Education (MinOCW) and organized the conference of promoting the value of active students with our convenant partners, University of applied sciences of Amsterdam and PwC. Portfolio: Vice National Representative (NR) to represent the Netherlands on international ESN conferences and IT Coordinator to maintain and build the website, deal with Google Apps, Drive, Mailingslist for the entire Dutch network and the Membership Administration through Galaxy (ESN Tool) for the Netherlands. Result: I created guidelines for the website and use of galaxy; Introduced Satellite 4 to our members and trained them to use this. Other positions on local level: PR-Coordinator in Ås, Norway in September 2010 for 4 months; Vice-President of IxESN Wageningen with PR tasks for a year from July 2011. Result: I've developed several new projects such as intercambio, buddy program and organized the National Platform. Show less

  Teaching and facilitating in the Make !t Possible Project

  Aim of the project was to stimulate active citizenship: to sensitize the youngster to the contribution they can have for the future and development of society; working with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).36 volunteers from eight EU countries were in Portugal. Make it Possible took place in Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Coimbra, Covilhã, Lisbon and Faro. I was situated in Faro with 3 others as facilitators on 2 high schools.Result: Media attention in Faro for our activity to create awareness for the MDG's and inspire youngsters of two highschool classes.   Trainee project management and team communication

  I researched project management; how the communication and information flow within the international development projects can be adjusted to increase efficiency and quality in these projects (incl. team communication & information sharing between the consultants). As a trainee I visited SENA in Colombia where CINOP provides training to teachers to further develop their capacities in teaching techniques, communication skills and their use of ICT. CINOP Global offered me the opportunity to be active in TVET in the development context, to participate in large international projects and to be involved in the UNESCO-UNEVOC Network as representative of CINOP.Result: Increased awareness of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Network; Insight in the communication and information flow of CINOP Global projects; www.cinopglobal.com Show less

  Consultancy project for FSW Saba

  8 weeks consultancy project for the Foundation Social Workplace Saba (FSWSaba) as part of the MSc program to research how to stimulate agricultural business on Saba. I was the only social scientist in a multidisciplinary team of 7 students. We presented 8 agricultural opportunities based on a SWOT analysis, a communication plan to stimulate agriculture and a business plan as a step by step toolkit to start an agricultural business. With a report and a presentation these products were a foundation for further research and activities on the island.Result: I took responsibility of the continuity in the products, the communication plan and the final presentation.   Wageningen UR has launched two MOOCs succesfully for almost 50.000 students on edX. Since July I have supported the project manager, build the courses on edX by using HTML, provide insight in the possibilities to the content team and give feedback on how to present the courses to stimulate student's learning. I technically support both MOOC teams from transcripts (srt) to errors in videos and any other content of our MOOCs. During the courses I supervise the discussion forum moderators and finalize sections for publication on weekly basis. Show less

  This research is on request by the Inspection for Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (MinOCW) and supervised by the chair group Communication and Innovation studies of Wageningen University. They are interested in what is done in secondary education to prevent and deal with radicalizing youngsters. This research will bring together best practices from scientific literature to provide an overview of what these approaches might need to include and currently applied approaches in secondary education in the Netherlands. I facilitate and inspire university lecturers in innovating and implementing their courses in the new learning management system (Brightspace).
