  The Oasis center is a place where youth can growth thrive and create positive change in the community in which they live. Youth United is a youth lead group that works on reducing youth violence in the Nashville area. We would promote community dialogue with people of all ages at the local community center to discuss some problems in the neighborhood and come up with some solutions. Youth United also hosts the annual Night Out Against Crime which is a night where community members can get together for a family friend fun night. Show less

  During my time at TrojanVision I have been a reporter, anchor, weather talent, producer, and anything behind the scenes. As a reporter at TrojanVision we are responsible for setting up our own interviews, shooting our own footage, as well as editing/ writing the stories. As a producer the responsibility is to put together the stories that the reporter have done into the rundown while making sure the scripts are done and sound camera ready. Doing the weather was 3 or 4 minutes of ad-lib with weather maps that have to be put together by the talent.   As a resident assistance I am responsible for anywhere between 150-200 residents. A resident assistant must plan events for the residents to come together and get to know other people who stay in the building. These activities also are used to help the resident get to the the RA on a more personal level so the resident will feel more comfortable with the RA. The job also requires a lot of creativity because planning interesting events for college students is difficult and decorating the dorm every month. A RA acts as a liaison between the University and students and they also act as front line of defense. We get to know the resident in order to create a safe environment for each student and the RA is in place to enforce University policy. Show less An IMPACT leader serves as a summer orientation counselor for incoming freshmen and transfer students. The leader is responsible for having sure the student is have a great experience at TROY and answering any questions the student may have. I was apart of a special group of IMPACT leaders that got to attend parents panel sessions. During the parents panel the 5 leaders are asked questions by the parents at random. Some times we are asked our opinions or concern in relation to college life. In the end one of the leaders most important responsibilities would be to create the students Fall schedule. The leader would have to learn for scheduling from other counselor to implement for the students. Show less

  During this internship my responsibilities includes assisting producers with writing and getting any media they need for CBS. Interns also go out in the field with reporters as well as photographers. The time is the field is spent coming up with some questions for the interviewer, doing my own stand ups, and learning how to work different equipment. After being in the field interns would put together their own packages through material for the day and coming up with script that an anchor would say for each package. Interns would sit in on pitch meetings as well as assist the assignment manager with beat calls before the meeting. Show less

  As the evening reporter I am responsible for finding my own stories and being about to clearly express them in the morning meeting to my news director and co-workers. As a Multi-Media Journalist I shoot, edit and write a PKG and two VOSOTs everyday. I will also go live in the 5 & 6 show rather that is in the studio or out in the field. After that is finish I come back and write my web story and connect it to our website. Throughout the day I update my social media about my story.
