  With the help of a senior colleague in the old International Services Division (ISD) of Citibank in Switzerland (progenitor of the global Private Bank), I developed a Private Banking Division exclusively dedicated to Africa. Its central feature was the position of Global Market Manager, as area expert and Business Head coordinating the global strategy of all booking centers with developing Africa exposure: New York, Bahamas, London, Jersey, Luxembourg, Geneva, Zurich, Paris and Monaco .The Citibank Private Bank Africa once counted over 25 dedicated relationship and service managers, making multiple visits to all parts of the continent, and an AUM base of close to US$ 5 billion at year 2000.
