  Duties included drafting of the extension of time claims and submitting monthly claims to the clients on projects, ensuring the submission of monthly cost spends to clients, to name a few. On one project, I was able to increase the evaluated cashflow by R 2 Million, by demonstrating to the client’s Quantity Surveyor of work that had been done to date but omitted in the calculations. Created and implemented new systems for subcontract works management. The new systems resulted in an immediate plugging of financial wastage and fraudulent monetary claims. Also created the following:1. Created a data base of all subcontractor/vendor.2. Analyzed monies claimed by and payment patterns to subcontractors/vendors.3.   On one of my projects, I was able to unlock project funding through negotiations, creative value engineering and coordination of the design & cost team to achieve the cost target of the executive team. Prior to project involvement, the project had been a stalemate and had been canned for 3 years by the executive team. On another project, I was able to reduce the amount my client (the tenant) needed to pay for a new Fresh Air system, through effective documentation used for negotiations with the Landlord to 50% of the cost. Using my quantity surveying skillsets on the same project, I was able to increase our profit by 50% of planned profit. Show less

  On one of my projects there was a cost saving objective by the CRES team and a request to maintain a relationship with an existing supplier (who had historically been expensive) by the IT team. I suggested and implemented a solution that resulted in a cost saving of about R 600,000.00 ZAR, while still using the existing preferred supplier for the installation. The project was rated a 5/5 and client requested my involvement on the rest of MEA Region projects.
