In 2013 I moved to Morgan Stanley’s Regulatory Reporting group in London as the Technical Delivery Manager for a Basel III capital adequacy project and the IT System Owner of the resulting product. I run the development team and was responsible for interfacing with the business, translating requirements into tasks, managing the delivery and communicating risks and status to all the stakeholders. The project involved complex hedging algorithms to calculate the bank's residual exposure to other financial institutions using an in-memory database. Throughout 2014-2015 I was based in Morgan Stanley's Shanghai office as the Development Manager of a regulatory reporting application, focusing on the maintenance and renovation of its calculation engine and turning the application into a global platform. I also lead the strategic migration of our data platform in order to increase the capacity and performance of our plant and leverage next generation features, such as bi-temporality and columnar in-memory tables.
