  • Increased a major account's donations by 50%:The account was already an active and significant contributor to the United Way of the Inland Valleys before I took inherited it. I contacted the company representative, and set up a series of 12 presentations to their staff. I visited their lunch room the day before making my first presentation, and found a room full of warehouse workers in their 40s and 50s. How could I possibly get through to employees like these when I was 20 years their junior and had very little in common with them?I wracked my brain until I found two things I had in common with these men: a shared community and a desire for helping others. I created a speech that centered around those two topics: the importance of community, and how giving to the United Way would help the people living in this community.Months later the final tally of contributions came through, my Director congratulated me on a job well done and remarked that their contribution was 50% higher than last year's.★Orchestrate the entirety of a company's campaign: • Make initial contact with company liaison • Brainstorm ideas for an effective campaign • Give presentations • Collect donations • Send thank you notes and close out accounts Show less
