The research work involved Trend Analysis, Patent analysis and Delphi study of Indian Biotechnology firms. The research work involved International System of Innovation framework. Expert interviews were taken in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Pune region. The study encompassed exploration and identification of significant factors influencing technology intensive exports in biotechnology sector, measures adopted to enhance exports and challenges faced in the form of socio-economic, environmental, health, regulatory and ethical concerns. The thesis also dealt with the co-relationships and impact of FDI, Venture Capital funds, technological and R&D intensiveness, IPR, branding, outlicensing, market orientation, national and international collaborations, networking, linkages, mergers and acquisitions on high technology exports of biotechnology sector.
