    • 2U

      May 2013 - Sept 2016
      Freelance Content Builder & Reviewer

2U creates online courses for universities, including UNC-Chapel Hill, University of Southern California, Syracuse University, and others. Through its integrated platform, which is a fusion of cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology and technology-enabled services, 2U provides schools with the comprehensive operating infrastructure they need to attract, enroll, educate and support students globally. As a content builder, I create the presentations that go along with professors' recorded lectures. Sometimes that simply involves recreating a professor's PowerPoint presentation in HTML and timing the text to appear as she references a specific point. More often, however, creating the presentation means improving on that PowerPoint with images and graphics, as well as cleaning up the professor's text (eliminating passive voice, making bullet points parallel, etc.). My work as a builder was so strong that I was made a reviewer -- i.e., I review and correct the work of other builders. Show less
