      2022 - 2024
Master's degree Volcanology 12.518/20 (awarded with honours)

Activities and Societies: Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans (LMV) Observatoire de Physique du Globe de Clermont-Ferrand (OPGC) The Magmas et Volcans programme is the only Master's programme in France entirely devoted to volcanology, with a multidisciplinary approach: physical volcanology, magmatic petrology, geochemistry and geophysics, and their applications to active volcanic systems. The aim is to provide training through research in all areas of magmatism (Earth's internal chemistry, formation and genesis of magmas and their emplacement - in particular volcanism), taking into account human and environmental aspects… Show more The Magmas et Volcans programme is the only Master's programme in France entirely devoted to volcanology, with a multidisciplinary approach: physical volcanology, magmatic petrology, geochemistry and geophysics, and their applications to active volcanic systems. Students are also in direct contact with the issues of volcanic monitoring and risks, thanks to the presence on the teaching staff of observational physicists (CNAP) and personnel working on active volcanism in Latin America and Indonesia. 2018 - 2022
      Level 1 - Bachelor's degree Geology and Earth Sciences/Geosciences 96/110

The subject of the degree course in Geological Sciences is the study of the planet Earth, with particular regard to the lithosphere and hydrosphere, the phenomena that take place in them and their relations with human activities, with the aim of preparing graduates with a good basic knowledge in the various sectors of the Earth Sciences. During the course of study, the student is provided, after the basic training in the areas of mathematics, computer science, physics and chemistry, with a set… Show more The subject of the degree course in Geological Sciences is the study of the planet Earth, with particular regard to the lithosphere and hydrosphere, the phenomena that take place in them and their relations with human activities, with the aim of preparing graduates with a good basic knowledge in the various sectors of the Earth Sciences. During the course of study, the student is provided, after the basic training in the areas of mathematics, computer science, physics and chemistry, with a set of geological knowledge and methodologies for basic and applied geological data collection. To this end, much time is devoted to exercises in classrooms equipped with microscopes, educational collections of minerals, rocks, fossils, topographic and geological maps. In addition, for a more direct approach to the geological environment, numerous field trips lasting several days are carried out from the first year. Show less
