      Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
      Administrative Assistant

As an admin assistant in Ellergreen Medical Centre, a high-pressure work environment (due to the volume and variety of patients) I had to work efficiently to maintain the standard of service. This was a mixture of paid work and volunteering. My main responsibilities included representing the centre by greeting patients upon entry and checking them in for appointments. I also aided in the management of patient records and their update from paper to electronic copies and I handled distribution of prescriptions to patients. In addition to this, l was responsible for the general upkeep of reception functionality to ensure smooth running of the medical centre as a whole. Show less

    • The Barn at Moor Hall

      Jun 2020 - Aug 2020
      Bar Assistant

As bar assistant at The Barn at Moor Hall (a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant), it was imperative that I provided impeccable customer service to reflect its high status. This was especially important as I was involved in front of house operations and directly interacted with guests upon entry. This included welcoming them as well as the preparation and serving of cocktails, food and other drinks to them. In addition to these duties, I also ensured the maintenance of the bar workstations by tidying and cleaning all work areas and glassware back to their designated locations. While working here, I was inspired to use my initiative to devise a sample seasonal cocktail menu for my supervisor to review and give feedback on. This allowed me to employ my creativity and further my interest in the area. Show less

Festival Food and Beverage Team Member

My main duties as a Festival food and beverage team member consisted of ensuring smooth front of house service and customer interaction, as it was important that I represented the university appropriately. This included the handling of money when customers purchased products where I demonstrated honesty and numeracy. In addition, as part of my team, I helped prepare and serve food and drinks for customers in a high-pressure environment which required strong teamwork skills. Alongside these responsibilities, I also ensured the maintenance of house premises through the cleaning and organisation of the area to ensure compliance with public health regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This drive has been carried through to present day as I am now a team captain at EUFC.For the skill section of the programme, I furthered my skills in piano playing, specifically with the aim of practicing for my music A level and school awards evening performance of 'Claire de Lune' which was in front of roughly 2000 people. Finally, as part of the expedition portion, I undertook a series of expeditions with the qualifying one being conducted in Galloway Forest, Scotland. During this expedition, my group and I faced numerous difficulties, one of which was when a team member who had recently undergone knee surgery began to struggle to keep up. To help them, I suggested that we redistribute some of the group kit from their bag between the rest of us and to take breaks for them to recover. Show less
