    • Orion Health

      Jan 2012 - Mar 2020

I took over a solution utilising our main products, with 2 dedicated development teams and 1 dedicated solutioning team. It was an enriching challenge to juggle product features and customer requests pursuing better outcomes. At the end of the 1st year in the role, I was given the opportunity to create a brand new product. By studying existing pain points in the industry, competing products in the targeted market, and strengths of our other products, I shaped this product with a concise vision, competitive edge, and values targeted throughout its maturity path. This was so that what it 'is' and 'is not' becomes clear, we have strong goals to drive its success, and to guide our day-to-day decision making. To ensure we could get regular and frequent end user feedback, I worked hard at establishing direct access to our targeted user in the market, working with our UX team and our service team. By the time NZ started the shutdown for Covid-19, we were ready to go with prototype-assisted interviews planned, hospital sites queued for direct user interviews and interaction comparison workshops. However, a company wide restructure took place where all new product development was put on hold, and I left the company, after surviving several previous restructures.Key achievements during my time in OH:* Built the first reporting product powered by a data warehouse. Few years later, utilised the modernised infrastructure to produce Meaningful Use measures for health service provider. * Delivery of necessary API enabling hospital clinicians to seamlessly utilise the strength of two major solutions on complete different technology stacks. * Regular releases of a key solution utilising a range of products to enable health service coordinators caring for patients in the community, from care planning, to routine assessments, ad-hoc tasks, including medication reviews and prescriptions, plus the ability to share information with hospitals for acute events and test results. Show less Orion Health is the only global, independently owned eHealth software company in NZ delivering interoperable, connected solutions for healthcare facilities, organisations and regions. My 1st project (as the sole BA in the team) delivered the company’s 1st product in the Business Intelligence area. This provided me with real life experience in Data Warehousing. In my 2nd project, I filled in and acted as the team lead, while being the BA, in a development team of 9. We integrated two critical products of complete different technology stacks into one, responding to green field market opportunity. This gave me the 1st hands-on opportunity in establishing an 'almost' self-managing team.Later on, I was in the unique position of being the sole floating BA resource for my Line of Business, working with 6 development teams at various points in time, reflecting business priority. I focused on turning the direction of the product development into clear, concise and traceable work pieces for our development teams to action. Show less
