      Responsible for the support of children with disabilities between the ages of 4 and 18 years old. Being entrusted with their sole care taught me patience and the ability to understand and manage people’s needs and requirements in challenging situations. This work has taught me good transferable skills for an engineering workplace in respect to patience, forward planning and verbal and non-verbal communication.

      Experience gained at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham. Projects I was involved in included: Engineering Resilience Reviews; identifying and considering improvements of the maintenance systems of the hospital, and a Black Start test; testing the electrical systems to ensure the power would behave as stated if turned off, representing a failure at the generators. Venue Hosting at the Orbit tower in the Olympic park over the duration of the Olympics and Parolympics. My main duties were to enhance customer experience, assist in creating a clear, safe flow path of people around the stages of the structure and to communicate with customers. This job taught me great customer service skills as were coming face to face with over 5000 people a day.

      Package Manager of a large interdisciplinary design team on a rail mega-project under NEC I have attained a wealth of civil and structural engineering technical skills since starting at Arup in 2013 whilst working in buildings, rail and maritime sectors during both design and construction stages. Working on this range of projects has strengthened my problem solving and design co-ordination skills. Working withn GSA, CSC software and Revit and CAD.Held a Client’s Representative role on a maritime project during the construction phase under ICC.

      Chair

      Chair for the IStructE young person's committee for the Western Counties. I joined the committee in 2014 as an events co-ordinator and secretary, this led onto the deputy chair role 2015/16 and now chair. We organise monthly presentations in both Bristol and Bath, networking events such as grab-a-grad and I lead monthly meetings for the committee. I also attend the Western Counties Main Committee monthly meetings.
