      This was a contract position for the 2013 and 2014 Field Seasons. In this position I honed a wide variety of skills that I learned in college, such as plant ID, ecosite classification, and environmental sampling. I used aerial-photos/satellite imagery and maps to plan site access and navigate to sites, and a Trimble GPS and/or compass to establish sites.Duties involved:- Diligently conducting grassland, parkland, and cropland vegetation inventories, and foliar cover estimates across Southern Alberta- Collecting and pressing vascular plant voucher specimens- Recording migratory bird songs and determining the ecological land classification for each bird song recording point- Properly collecting and preparing soil samples for shipping to the lab for analysis- Carefully collecting lichen and moss specimens, and later identifying them in the lab- Successfully navigating the Range and Township road system in the dark at 3 am while sleep deprived רוצה לראות פחות
