  Hospice of the Comforter’s Bereavement Center offers support and resources for those coping with death and loss. Services are provided for both Hospice patient's families and for those in the community who need grief support. As an individual counselor and support-group facilitator, I guided clients and attendees through the bereavement process and supported them through their grieving journey by offering a safe space to explore the paradoxes and complicated emotions of the loss-experience. All brief counseling sessions were provided at no cost and were open to the community.Sessions included grief education, existential exploration of the possibilities found in the grieving process, and strength-based reconciliation interventions meant to reduce the suffering from the pain of loss. While recognizing that there is no 'right' way to grieve or 'right' amount of time to grieve, clients were encouraged to talk about their grief with the intention of normalizing the grief process, achieving some level of personal growth, and to adjust to a new reality in their lives.
