Used operational conditioning to examine the observable relationship between obesogenic diet and food motivated behavior in rats; then removed soft brains for Western blots to investigate the neurological relationship between obesogenic diet and D2 dopamine receptor levels. Surgically removed fixed rat brains to investigate the time course of D2DR receptors through the development and maintenance of obesity. Presented findings at 2019 Society for Neuroscience Annual Conference. Attended weekly Introduction to Biochemistry laboratories and aided the lab instructor in scheduled experiments and activities. This job necessitated that I be prepared sufficiently to answer most student questions on lab procedure or instrumentation. Attended Introduction to Psychology class lectures three times per week and provided two mentor sessions per week with personally prepared study materials. Under the supervision of Professor Andrea Tracy, another student and myself used classical conditioning to examine the relationship between an external auditory cue and food anticipatory behavior and ghreline production in rats.
