  I worked in the Davis Laboratory with Seth Tomchik. My main task was to determine the effect of Nuerofibromatosis type 1 on Drosphila melanogaster, in regards to the size of adults. I also supported Seth's experiments regarding the effects of Dopamine and cAMP pathways in mushroom body lobes of fruit flies. I spent my time learning about how research is done in a professional setting. The experience gave me insight into the field and convinced me I should go into engineering when I got to college.   At the University of Notre Dame, community is based around dorm life. Since I was a freshman, I had always dreamed of being able to give back to the community by serving as a Resident Assistant (RA) in Sorin. The experience honed my leadership skills and taught me how to really connect with people, especially those that are having the most difficult time.My main duties were to solve any and all problems in the dorm.
