  My research entailed applied research in the ZHAW IFM Real Estate Management department with the newly acquired FARO 3Dx laser scanner. Throughout my work I registered full building point clouds and tested multiple Autodesk Revit plug-ins to accurately translate a 3D point cloud to a Building Information Model (BIM) and implemented the respective BIM in a virtual reality (video game) environment. I also assisted in the development of an online BIM viewer which can be accessed from the Internet without a specific software by using IFC files exported from Revit. My research position required a high amount of personal integrity and innovation to independently develop 3D scan to BIM work flows. Show less

  As a BIM Specialist with Sandis I was relied on to register 3D scan data which was captured in the field with the Leica P40 scanner. After the data was registered I used one of many different workflows developed internally by myself and my colleagues to best facilitate the BIM transmittal. After the modelling was done it was my duty to conduct quality control and quality assessment to ensure and high level of accuracy. Typical deliverable formats for these projects include AutoCAD drawing files, Revit models, compiled Navisworks files and Navisworks clash detection reports. Show less

  Scientific Research Assistant for Solar Facade Design and Construction

  I was a BIM expert at the Hochschule Luzern Technik & Architecture Competence Center for Building Envelopes. My primary focus is on modeling our Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) facade projects to a Level of Definition 500. My first project was at the Spreitenbach Umwelt Arena in Zürich which consists of 27 photovoltaic modules that are printed as Swiss Cantonal flags. I was also responsible for modeling the SwissBau Innovation Lab cube with detail accuracy for fabrication. Most recently I have modeled our product for the EMPA Nest project and hosted the model on a custom Forge web application which links the online common data environment with the energy monitoring system for real time energy production from inside the model.
