  Serves as a Project Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Civil Design Section, located in Huntington, WV., to plan, direct, and design a variety of civil works projects such as flood control and navigation locks and dams, reservoirs, natural resource management, recreation facilities, local protection floodwalls and levees; make specialized technical design reports and prepare plans and specifications on assigned projects.As a project engineer in the Civil Design Section, Plan, direct, and coordinate the design of a variety of civil works projects; Provide technical support to project engineers or other higher graded employees; Review assignments to determine adequacy and compliance with established practices, methods, and procedures; Maintain close liaison with related engineering specialist, other elements of the District, and A-E contractors; Work with officials and representatives of state and local government and private sector concerning relocation and utility service contracts, right-of-way, easements, and special federal requirements or specifications; Prepare and coordinate sections of reconnaissance reports and design document reports associated with assignedprojects; Serve as a project management team member for Engineering and Construction Division supporting the District's programs and objectives; Coordinate, assist, and provide input to the development and preparation of initial project management plans (IPMPs) and project management plans (PMPs); Develop budget and cost estimates, while monitoring fund expenditures and tracking fiscal performance within the technical elements; Represent the District on technical project issues to other agencies and project sponsors.
