      Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme Bursar

The Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme (DTUS) Section Leader plays a pivotal role in preparing bursars for Initial Officer Training at Britannia Royal Naval College. This scheme operates concurrently with university studies, offering a unique blend of academic education and practical military training. As a section leader within DTUS, I assumed a critical role in ensuring the welfare and development of a group of fellow students. I acted as a mentor, providing guidance and support throughout their journey.I actively participated in weekly training sessions at HMS Forward in Birmingham. These sessions covered a wide range of topics, including current affairs, STEM-focused projects, operational and strategic planning, and physical fitness.I organized and participated in a number of adventurous training expeditions in order to build resilience and adaptability among myself and peers. This included a sailing expedition across the North Sea and a mountaineering exercise in the Scottish Highlands. Show less
