  Student Process design

  • This project is to design a process to extract cannabidiol (CBD) from industrial hemp using solvent extraction technique. It involved all the steps of a real design project such as process steps determination, a process flow diagram, equipment selection and sizing, control strategy development, P&ID diagram, economic analysis, Hazop assessment and environmental impact. • Perform preliminary design based on research from papers, patents and websites. • Sizing design for our chosen equipment using the method learnt from previous lectures and Chemical Engineering Handbooks. • We have demonstrated teamwork and communication skills in this project by working in a group of four people. Leadership skill practised, as we need to shift the leader role throughout the entire project. Show less
