      Curatorial Assistant

During this internship I was tasked with assisting curator, Alinde, in bringing the vision for the exhibition now on display until October 2022, Who Are You Wearing? I was able to stay within budget when planning and scouting difficult to source materials such as mannequins which we were able to secure for display of the contemporary materials. I was able to scout local talent, develop positive ongoing relations and aid in developing programs for the local community. Come towards the end of this internship I was offered a casual position to remain a part of the FCMG family and have maintained ongoing community relations with my colleagues and other stakeholders such as the artists whose works are now on display. I worked on drafting contracts between institution and stakeholders, particularly regarding term loan agreements, inward and outward loans, and payment contracts. I was involved in the exhibition install of not only Who Are You Wearing? But other exhibitions which were on rotation at the gallery for the duration of my internship. I spear headed the the beginning of install week for Who Are You Wearing? When my supervisor had caught covid and was required to self-isolate as a result. During those two first days of install I led the small team in preparing the museum space for the installation of mannequins and handled the objects and material for display with the upmost professional care.
