It included visits to health facilities and assessment of health service delivery using a structured tool. Accomplishment includes increasing the number of health facilities covered and assessed from 50% to 75% of all supported sites.

      I was part of the research team, which conducted a survey of emergency obstetric and neonatal care services in Zanzibar. In this project, we were responsible for assessing emergency obstetric and neonatal health care service in Zanzibar and provide recommendations for areas of improvement to stakeholders that included the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and UNFPA. As part of the team, I was involved in tool development, training research assistants, supervising fieldwork, presenting in meetings with the stakeholders, and writing the final report.Accomplishment includes a report submitted to the MoH of Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and UNFPA and two published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Show less I was a research study coordinator for a study determining the association between indoor air pollution levels, mainly from charcoal cooking stoves and respiratory effects among women and children. In this study, I led a team of 5 research assistants, including two technicians who were responsible for collecting the spirometer readings and the indoor air pollution levelsAchievements include gathering complete information for 68 families located in two different districts/zones in 13 weeks.
