Jun 2012 - Sept 2012Technical Undergraduate Placement Student - HAZOP Department• Throughout the summer of 2010, I completed five weeks work placement on the AS link scheme in Corus/Tata steelworks in Port Talbot, where I led a research based analysis on the critical water composition which operates in the steelworks. I also looked at the effects it was having on the works water systems (e.g. pipes) and how to combat the effects of the corrosion and sludge build up. This was an absorbing study which linked in with my interests on environmental matters. This link scheme culminated in the presentation of my project to senior managers. Show less

Feb 2023 - nowTransformation Lead Trostre Packaging• In charge of a site wide (~600 Employees) Transformation Program with the overall aim to increase awareness of Operational performance and improve Quality and Yield performance. Within 6 months I managed to improve the yield performance by 1% (~£2m) through leading cross-functional team deep dives on Operational & Quality issues.• Identified and delivered improvements on Right First Time (RFT) and material flow through A3 analysis across the Manufacturing units. Identified improvements in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and scheduling guidelines on several manufacturing units. Improved RFT on over 4kT of material. • Led a cross functional team (Commercial, Technical, Supply Chain & Production) analysing and process mapping Trostre operations and order book to identify opportunities to improve yield, stock management, material flow and delivery time performance to customer. Improved material diversion rates by ~400t per week resulting in improved delivery times to customer. • Implemented a new stock location process which incorporated new technology to improve stock completion rate and increase visibility on stock management. Improved completion rate of stock checks by over 70% with the new process helping to identify and action aged stock.• Introduced Layered Process Audit and GEMBA walks across 15 manufacturing units and ~340 employees with the aim to ensure critical quality checks in high risk areas are being completed across all levels of the organisation.
