Responsibilities included ensuring student safety in residence, planning and organizing residence activities outside of class, helping them learn English through daily conversation, and doing weekend nighttime rounds in the residence. I was the head RA in the second summer, which included the additional responsibilities of scheduling shifts for rounds, holding weekly meetings with other RAs, and reporting to the MASSIE program coordinator.
