  Queerspacesaga is a Mangalore based platform. My roles included managing a team of 7-10 content writers and designers, coming up with posts related to intersectionality, writing/editing content and occasionally designing attractive posts based on the written content.Over the duration of my role, I have written and designed 50+ posts, and edited over 130 posts. I also organised and hosted online community meets, Instagram lives with renowned queer-affirmative mental health practitioners such as Ms. Shruti Chakravarty, Ms Pooja Nair, Anindita Kundu, etc. During the covid pandemic, my team and I, under the leadership of our founder, raised 3,71,000 rupees for community aid to assist the transgender community of Mangalore.   As a junior mentor, I educate 8-12 students of the new batches of the Counseling Skills Training Program on basic counselling skills, whilst also supervising mock sessions twice a week and coming up with creative learning experiences for the same.I am responsible for heading and facilitating peer supervision sessions once or twice a week with 8-10 of my fellow trainees and junior trainees.I have also successfully conducted a 7+ hours sensitisation and awareness workshop for 100+ trainees over the span of 2 days on the LGBTQ+ community, the importance of and how to be inclusive of the community in therapeutic interventions. Show less I am being trained in the area of mental health counseling with consistent opportunities to hold mock counselling sessions with clients twice a week under senior and peer supervision. I have more than 500 hours of training so far in topics such as grief, transference, self esteem, relationship counseling, family counseling, abuse, daily socio-emotional issues, health psychology, disorders, and more via discussions, case studies, and practice sessions. This has helped me develop skills such as empathy, reflection of emotions, reflection of content, active listening, effective communication (verbal and non - verbal), session planning, psychological intervention, probing, challenging and so on.
