      • Managed the largest program, (Teaching English as a Foreign Language Program) in the organization, funded by donor USAID, with upwards of 300 beneficiary students/ semester• Supervised a team of 20 volunteer teachers and interns per/ semester• Interviewed and assessed educational needs and registered new refugee beneficiaries in various Arabic dialects• Training of Trainers (ToT): coaching and training of international volunteers, and local refugee community members, in teaching techniques and enhancing their knowledge of trauma sensitivity in the classroom• Initiatives included: implementing training and inclusion of refugee students in ToT's in order to enhance sustainability of program; creation of take-home textbooks for students which were adapted from western texts to fit student learning needs (including Arabic translations for lower levels)• M&E tasks included: graded assessments, performance evaluations of volunteers and interns, survey and data collection from beneficiaries (included recording class results, registering students, tracking student progress through test results, class observations and face to face conversations, inviting new beneficiaries to classes utilizing social media and messaging systems), and presenting test results of beneficiary students as data to represent that our targets were met for funder (USAID) Show less

      • Project Officer for the International Youth Internship Programme (IYIP), aimed at enhancing youth employment and involvement across Canada, and contributing to UNA-Canada's mission of "Creating Global Citizens"• Managed cross Canada recruitment of the early-career development professionals (selecting 24 youth out of 400 applicants during rigorous recruitment process), and successful placement of 24 candidates with global UN agencies (UNICEF; UNDP; WFP; UNESCO; UNCDF) for 6-month remote internships• Led on program PR and Communications updates including social media, website, LinkedIn etc.• Liaised between global UN agency partners and national youth interns in Canada through pre, during and post internship phases• Engaged with IYIP's donor Global Affairs Canada (GAC) on monthly reporting meetings, and kept donor abreast of all program updates• M&E tasks included: data collection, data visualization, survey implementation (GAC surveys), survey creation (for additional programming innovations) and contributing to final annual report • Created innovative new programming series, titled the "Open Conversation Series", with aim to enhance unity of Cohort 5's remote participants, and their understanding of GAC's core development themes (Democratic Governance, Gender Equality & Environmental Sustainability) in combination with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through workshops and presentations with select Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)• Enhanced professional development and capacity of youth interns through online training sessions; portfolio and CV reviews; interactive workshops, etc. to meet with the aims of the Youth Employment and Skills Scheme (YESS) through which IYIP is funded Show less

      • Short term consultancy incorporating theatre and arts-based methods for development to prevent and advocate against Gender Based Violence (GBV)• Project aim to enhance reporting on cases of GBV in Palestine, funded by the Representative Office of Norway to the Palestinian Authority• Lead co-facilitator on 3 weeks of in person training and support given (entirely in Arabic) to youth team from Hebron, West Bank on TfaC's Interactive Radio Drama (IRD) methodology• Led on monitoring and evaluation collection through survey implementation, data collection (qualitative and quantitative) from youth team and listening clubs• Compiled final narrative report on project implementation and successes• Collaborated on workshop creation and content, and quality control of subsequent weekly IRD episodes produced by youth group, highlighting narratives of GBV in Palestinian communities• Results included: 8 weekly episodes produced by youth team, and heard by over 170,000 listeners in the MENA region; all youth team members reported improved understanding and awareness of GBV and reporting mechanisms in Palestine Show less
