  My very first activities after my studies were:- Shadow-Engineering in the project ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle)- Egineering and Finite Element analyses as well as shadowing of the design activities in several space projects- Execution of the ESA study ACAD (Advanced SAR Antenna Design), i.e. engineering, design and analysis of the antenna structure including its mechanismsAfter this first phase, I was promoted to become the Engineering Responsible in the project ACY 5400 for ARIANE 5. During this time, I participate at the 3rd European Conference for Launcher Technologies in Strassbourg with my presentation "Implementation of high-performance and reliable structural bonded joints” on the example of ACY 5400.Finally I took over the role as lead System Engineer for the project Planck PPLM with a project team of 25 engineers.   Starting at Sauter, Bachmann in early 2003, I was the responsible development engineer for all Aerospace proejcts. In this role, I was technically responsible for the Pilatus PC-12 "Flap Actuating System", i.e. the removal of its childhood deseases, further development to a mature system for series production as well as trouble shooting onsite where required.In parallel I was responsible or participated in many proposals, external presentations and lecture, investigations and clarification activities with customers and many audits (ISO 9001, AN 9100, NADCAP).I represented during this time the company in the SAIG (Swiss Aeronautical Industries Group), at international conferences and fairs.   Becoming the managing director of RUAG Wallisellen, my initial activity was to transfer and integrate this site with its 35 employees to RUAG Space Zürich.After the finalised transfer, RUAG Wallisellen was reformed and renamed into the product line "Experiments & Special Mechanisms".In addition I participated heavily in the ongoing optimisation project "Fit for 2015" at RUAG Space Zürich, which ended with an overall site reorganisation from product lines into profit centers (Business Units).Thus the product line "Experiments & Special Mechanisms" was mostly merged into the new Business Unit "Mechanisms" by end of 2011. Show less During my time as group leader W-EM3, my main responsibilities were the management of the group "Assembly, Integration and Verification of Mechanisms and Instruments", the overall responsibility of the execution of recurring production contracts and project management.One of the main activities during this time was the transfer from the product line "Solar Array Drive Mechanisms (SADM)" from SNECMA in France to Zurich. After having joined RUAG, I took over the overall responsibility of this transfer consisting of knowhow, facilities, prodcuts, customers and many running contracts. Show less

  In the Business Unit "Mechanisms", I was head of Project Management with 10 project managers and a portfolio of ~40 international projects. These projects reached from 20 kEUR up to 15 MEUR each comvers proudction as well as technically highly challenging develoments of space mechanims for the institutional (ESA) and international commercial market.In addition I had the position of the deputy of the General Manager of our Business Unit with 100 employees and an average turnover of 25 MEUR.
