I am teaching Written Communication, a college composition course that fulfills a general education requirement, often with a co-requisite section for students who need a little extra support. I'm not sure I've ever had more fun teaching first-year composition. The course is a mash-up of Yancey's teaching for transfer, Inoue's anti-racist assessment, and Kress's multimodal literacies. We are reading bell hooks and research briefs from the Columbia Community College Research Center. Writing blog posts, proposals, reviews on how to improve gen ed at MATC. Show less
