      Jun 2017 - Aug 2017
      Research assistant

I conducted an experiment to test people spatial navigation skills using the game Sea Hero Quest. This game available on tablets and smartphones has been developed thanks to a collaboration between neuroscientists at UCL and computer scientists funded by Deutsche Telekom. It aims to detect early phases of dementia and enhance clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in particular. In this project, I compared performances of participants in the spatial navigation tasks in the streets of London and in the game. I then performed statistical analysis with Matlab. This project led to a poster presentation at the 2017 Cambridge Neuroscience Symposium entitled ''Neural Networks in Health and Diseases''. Show less

      Sept 2017 - Sept 2018
      Research assistant

I took part in an optogenetic research project looking at the role played by CA1 cells located in the mouse hippocampus on memory. I was involved in training mice on a virtual reality set up using 2-photon calcium imaging. I acquired Python skills from the virtual reality game used in the experiment. I performed surgery on mice injecting viruses containing GCamP and C1V1. I did fixation of headplates. I also did aspiration and histological plates of the mouse hippocampus.

      Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
      Research assistant

I conducted a project on the BBB model (Byrne, Becker and Burgess) which is a neural model of spatial memory. The BBB model demonstrates how an egocentric representation of the environment can be transformed into an allocentric representation for memory processes. I worked on Matlab to model connections between place cells, head direction cells and boundary vector cells. I also worked on potential extensions of the model to include grid cells

      Jun 2019 - Jul 2019
      Summer school-intermediate statistics and modelling

I got knowledge and skills on how to analyse data from experiments, in particular psychology. I studied topics including ANOVA, ANCOVA and logistic regression based on real world studies. I had training on analysing data with SPSS. I completed this course with an A grade (98%).
