      For 2011 the Product Innovation team was tasked with developing iPhone and Android apps for AutoTrader.com. Starting in January we partnered with designers and UI to create an iPhone app that would meet the needs of our consumers while furthering the business needs of AutoTrader.com.We chose a hybrid app approach so we would be able to port the iPhone app to Android with a minimum of rework. We used a HTML5 core using JQuery Mobile with Phonegap connecting it to the operating systems.My role on the project was front end developer and aiding in design and UX. I was tasked with writing HTML, CSS and SASS to provide the right look and interactions.The first iteration of the iPhone app was available by March 2011.The first iteration of the Android app was available October 2011. Show less Product Innovation 2010 - PresentThe Product Innovation team is tasked with taking a look at future technology, trends and advances. As part of the team, I have taken on a multi-disciplined role consisting of the following:- Strategy: Researching trends, exploring new technologies, envisioning new solutions to problems, analyzing data, learning best practices and finally producing and presenting points of views or strategies to explain the research in order to empower the company to be prepared for the future. Through the years have been involved with researching and promoting such big "trends" as SEO, Social Media, Mobile, Responsive/Adaptive Design and Big Data. - Visual Design and UX: Part of the role also demands the ability to create a useful experience across a wide range of devices, interfaces and mediums. From the UX standpoint, this has ranged from creating prototype iPad flows back in 2010, to production ready UX for the AutoTrader Dealer experience, all the way through working with virtual gestures in 3D space with such devices as the Leap Motion device. Visual design tasks have also run the gamut, from designing for the mobile space, through production ready design as Lead Designer for the AutoTrader Dealer experience.- Development: Initially focused on front end development, using years of HTML/CSS/JScript experience. Tasks included creating working prototypes, apps for Twitter and Facebook, and the initial AutoTrader iOS app, Android app and Mobile website.Technical Architect 2008 - 2010Part of a team tasked to determine the best tools, technologies and implementation strategies to deliver IT solutions on ongoing and upcoming projects. Worked closely with a cross-functional team to assess product requirements and transform them into screen designs and flows that enable flexibility to adapt to each OEM’s designs and requests, while ensuring ease of use and a positive user experience.

      Manheim Express App: Helped launch app dedicated to quickly accomplish key Manheim tasks. It allowed Dealers to sell vehicle quickly by helping them inspect, list, and get a cash offer on a vehicle. It help Dealers to quickly buy fresh, local, available vehicles that meet their needs. As the lead UX designer on the team, I shaped the structure and the design of the app, working tightly with Product and Dev to quickly get this app to Market.Manheim.com Search: As lead for all things Search, I helped improve and modernize the search capability for all users. Part of this was applying new style/pattern library guidelines to existing structuresData Analytics As lead for a joint project with Toyota I helped design the tools and interface to allow our Clients to see how to use our vast store of vehicle and sale data to help them quickly and profitably price their cars. Future Client Demo Sites: I also created OEM branded demo sites to use to pitch to potential clients. These sites were branded to match OEM brands and often were the basis of future branding efforts once we landed the clients. This required studying any design libraries, style guides, etc and adapting them to fit the needs of the clients. Show less
