Project lead for multiple collaborative research projects with Origin Energy focusing on petrophysical clay characterisation and hydrogeological properties of the Springbok Sandstone and Precipice Sandstone, Surat Basin. I am the unit coordinator for the third year units "Applied Geophysics" and "Energy Resources and Basin Analysis". I also teach a module on modelling seismic wave propagation in the unit "Aspects of Computational Science" offered by the School of Mathematics and a module on geodynamics as part of the geology cap stone unit "Dynamic Earth: Plate Tectonics". Elected staff representative for the School of Earth, Environmental and Biological Sciences.

      Sept 2018 - Jan 2019
      Visiting Researcher

Collaborative research project with Dr Oliver Heidbach and Dr Moritz Ziegler (both World Stress Map project). During my visit to the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, I build a 3D numerical geomechanical model of the Fitzroy Through in the Canning Basin, Western Australia. I utilized a workflow developed at the GFZ, including GoCAD for geological modelling, HyperMesh for mesh generation, ABAQUS for finite element simulation and several in house algorithms for boundary condition optimization (i.e. FAST calibration and the Tecplot 360 add-on GeoStress). The project resulted in significant technology transfer from the national research center for Earth Sciences in Germany to Australia. Show less
