      In roles of increasing responsibility, was the Federal Government’s representative for procurement of custom-designed equipment to service nuclear reactors in Naval vessels and associated oversight of servicing operations.• Product development: Oversaw the development of equipment designed to reduce operational labor costs to the Government. This included a reactor vessel refurbishment machine, a remotely operated reactor inspection device, and a large support structure for transporting high-level nuclear waste. • Product requirements: Wrote and approved requirements for naval reactor servicing equipment. Worked with a prime contractor and shipyard team to identify ways to simplify requirements and specifications to improve equipment operations.• Reviewed and approved detailed operating procedures for new equipment with major safety significance. • Accelerated Product launch: Expedited the development of new equipment to be available in time for a major overhaul with fixed operational schedule. • Leadership: Trained six engineers and interviewed approximately 100 college graduates for positions as operators of Naval nuclear reactors.• Collaboration: Oversaw the implementation of program-wide standardization initiatives for requirements, design, procedures, and processes.
