In addition to the management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities, I was responsible for developing and retaining motivated and competent people as well as supporting and supervising the discipline teams. I was responsible for the team's performance, reporting said performance to senior management and continuously improving the team's delivery for both existing and new clients. Through a structured re-alignment of personnel I was able to place the structural team in a position where we were able to go out and gain additional work on our own merit.From 2013 - 2014, I also ran a smaller, 7 in number, team in Aberdeen on the Enquest project.I was responsible for managing resources and approving all design and engineering. I was able to deliver this using my extensive contacts throughout the UK oil, gas and power industry.In addition to completing the multi-discipline capability across the UK, I was also assigned to grow the East region engineering design team in terms of technical competence and delivery in its European operations.Stage one was to introduce a bi-directional flow of information between all the discipline teams using BIM, this entailed the introduction of a work flow using Plant 3D, Advance Steel, Revit and Recap to give a seamless integration from laser scanned surveys through to fabrication ISO’s for pipework, and detail drawings and NC files for structural steelwork.The ongoing duties included driving technical assurance whilst managing, leading and coaching the engineering design team along its path of continuous improvement in their delivery of projects for both existing and new clients.   Leading the Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Surveying teams for OLG Engineering's post covid recovery, my initial brief was to modernise the working practices of these engineering functions and integrate them into an effective operational unit. I was able to utilise my connections in the industry to bring in key team players to assist. The whole team's efforts led to increased workload and reduced overheads as we delivered fully integrated engineering solutions with the latest design technology. This increase in workload enabled me to increase the engineering team from just 12 remaining staff, to over 50 in two years. Recognising the skills shortage issues facing the industry, in 2022 I arranged a partnership between OLG Engineering and North Lindsey College to provide work placements for T-Level engineering students, this yielded its first new permanent employee in the first year. In addition to the engineering management, I also brought my client base with me and developed additional clients through my connections from past projects, thus developing a more diverse portfolio for the engineering teams.OLG Engineering also has a fabrication facility in Grimsby and I was able to develop a design & build portfolio, using my project management skills to deliver work for Mitsubishi, Uniper and Reckitt.Other clients included: Phillips66, Prax, Ineos, Tricoya, Tronox, Tradebe, Air Products, Robson Conveyors, Don Valley Engineering, Perenco and Smith & Nephew Show less
