It was officially opened by then Deputy Prime Minister (who later became President of Singapore), Mr. Ong Teng Cheong at SLF Building, Thomson Road on 2 March 1991. NTUC Voice Cooperative runs the radio station, broadcasting two FM Channels( English & Malay on FM91.3 ,Mandarin & Tamil on FM100.3.
