  I entered into the workers compensation case management arena as a contract nurse with J.D. Byrd & Assoicates in 1996 to work with our client Schools Insurance Authority. I was an on-site Case Manager for the Hayward Unified School District. In working with the Risk Management Department, I was instrumental in assisting with the development of a new program at this facility, which involved field intervention for the triage of employee injuries. This program proved to be successful in promoting prompt and quality care for the injured worker as well as tremendous cost-effective outcomes. Much of this was due to the successful coordination and management of the program and diligent work with the medical providers, with an emphasis on return to work. Show less

  I entered into the workers compensation case management arena with Schools Insurance Authority in 1996 as an on-site Case Manager for the Hayward Unified School District. In 2002 I took the Intake position at the home office in Sacramento and for four years managed the first report of injury for school district employees, which involved providing advice for injury care, injury triage, and facilitation of referrals to the appropriate medical providers. This program proved to be successful in promoting prompt quality care of industrial injuries, as well as providing tremendous cost-effective outcomes. Show less
