More specifically, I focused on 'philanthropic' shock advertising: ads produced by charities depicting all sorts of atrocities (e.g., famine, pollution) the charities are committed to combat. The main question my research aspired to answer reads: does is pay to shock in a philanthropic context? Despite the fact that in recent years the use of shock tactics has become a very popular advertising practice, knowledge about its true effects remains limited. Show less

Show less At our facility in Hengelo, we have a warehouse ('Tire Hotel') that can store up to fourthousand sets of wheels and tires. Each summer and winter, many of our customers make an appointment at one of our five locations, in order to get their winter/summer tires mounted. One of my jobs is to optimize this process at each stage - from the moment the customer makes an appointment to the point their tires are safely stored in our warehouse. This means both constructing efficient work arrangements and ensuring the computer program we work with is optimally designed to fit our needs. Secondly I manage the warehouse inventory. Lastly, whenever needed, I pick and transport tires back and forth from our warehouse to our workshop. Show less
