  Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Surgical Observership

  My surgical observership on minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery was at Manisa Grandmedical Hospital under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Adem Güler. I observed a minimally invasive direct double coronary artery bypass surgery performed through the intercoastal area. Heart-lung bypass machine was used throughout the bypass. Artery grafts for the bypass of the coronary arteries were procured from the right and left distal radial arteries.

  Cardiovascular Surgical Observership

  My internship supervisor and mentour was cheif of cardiac transplantation unit and mechanical assist devices Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özbaran.Cardiovascular operations & procedures I observed throughout my internship at Ege University Cardiovascular Unit:-Biyoprotez Mitral Valve Replacement -3 CABG, Sternotomy & cardiopulmunary bypass was required.-Cabg × 3, RcA-SVG, D1-SVG, LIMA-LADAtherosclerosis vascular bypass operation, saphenous vein graft anastamosed to the femoral artery & a synthetic graft was also used to bypass the blocked vessel.[Ebstein's Anomaly]Emergency operation on a pediatric patient, tricuspid valve reconstruction operation was planned but after a post-op ecocardiogram a biologic valve transplant was proceeded.Radial artery fistula repair and blood vessel anastamosis.ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) was connected on a critical pediatric patient in the cardiac ICU. Minimally invasive endoscopic mechanical aortic valve replacement. Sternotomy wasn't required as the operatipn was performed through the intercoastal area. Cardiopulmunary bypass was used throughout the surgery.Congenital ventricular septal defect repair operation on a pediatric patient (VSD).[The patient had Arcus Anomaly]Aortic Coarctation Repair & PDA Ligation on a 3 month baby, cardiopulminary bypass and sternotomy wasn't requiredAbdominal muscle flap operationCABG × 3 Radial artery and internal mammary artery grafts were used. Sternotomy wasnt required as the operation was performed in the intercostal area. Saphenous and LIMA grafts are used for the bypass. Sternotomy and cardiopulmunary bypass was required for the operation. Grafts were anastamosed to the proximal and LAD coronary arteries.Vascular surgery of a Poplitieal artery blockage repair using an artificial graft to bypass the diseased vessle lession.Isolated valsalva aortic aneurysm on a middle aged patient. Benthall's shunt is used to replace the aneurysm lession of the aorta & a mechanic aortic valve replacment was also performed. Sternotomy and cardiopulmunary bypass was required.Quadruple coronarya artery bypass graft operation (CABG × 4). Saphenous vein and LIMA grafts were used to bypass the blocked blood vessels. Sternotomy and cardiopulmunary bypass was required for the operation. Diagonal Artery×LIMA.Mechanical mitral valve replacement. Sternotomy and cardiopulmunary bypass was used for the surgeryOff-pump, beating heart coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG×1). Right Internal Mammary Artery anastamosed to the LAD. Sternotomy was required.Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG×4). Saphenous vein and internal mammary artery grafts were used to bypass the blocked blood vessels. Sternotomy and cardiopulmunary bypass was required for the surgery.Arteriovenous fistula operation to form an irregular connection between the radial artery and the cephalic vein for a dialysis patient with hepatitis C. Tissues from the illeum were used to reconstruct the bladder. Urtheroplasty- of an abnormal urethra opening on a pediatric patient. (Hypospadias).Urethra reconstruction of an abnormal urethra opening (Proximal Hypospadias)Laparoscopic exscision of an extralobar - intradiaphramatic - pulmunary sequestration on a 2 month old patient. Additional unusual mucosal cystic tissue was excised. (Hamartoma)Due to urinary stenosis on the urethra of a child, a urinary urtheroplasty was performed to dialate the stenosed lession.Laparoscopic excision of a left ovarian cystEsophagoscopy on a post operative tracheabronchial fistula patient presented with esophagal stenosis and gastric reflux.
