During this time, I participated in several projects and secondments including:Onsite Technical Support Officer - Murdoch Hospital Redevelopment (1.5 Years)Under this role, I was responsible for onsite technical support of the hospital as it grew from 333 beds to 507 beds, and scaled up its existing services.       Building on the successes in my previous role, this position was created to provide oversight on the growing number of IT contracts beyond just licensing, including hardware, support, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS components. Key achievements in this role include:- Conducted IaaS and PaaS spending audits, specifically focused on reducing cloud spending by searching for licensing purchased in compute and replacing it with BYOL / Academic grants where possible.- Optimised Curtin's Microsoft Azure cloud using reservation management, demand forecasting, academic grants, commercial negotiation and licensing recycling to drive down IaaS costs for the platfrom as a whole.- Leading a cross-disciplinary team to design, build, test and automate CMDB management in ServiceNow.- Designing, documenting and implementing automated licensing management in the SNOW Platform, providing an audit ready single source of truth to support procurement, audit and optimisation activities.- Led the licensing approach for Curtin's Digital Identity project, aiding project commercial activities and supporting delivery of a system that will enable the future of automated licensing management. Show less Joining Curtin in 2019, this role focused on transforming the internal SAM function to deliver cost savings and reduced commercial licensing risk across Curtin's technology contracts. Key achievements in this role include:- Conducted a full scale maturity assessment of the SAM capability in the university, including the scope of responsibility and activities being undertaken and re-aligning these with Curtin's digital strategy.- Managed a budget of over $15m while ensuring full fiscal accountability for all spending under our remit.- Achieved year on year software budget savings of 10%+ through multiple contract negotiations, improving licensing recycling practices and aligning business requirements with the Curtin's procurement processes. - Fielded the strategy and response to multiple licensing audits, averaging a 100% reduction in liability and ensuring that Curtin's privacy and commercial interests were protected throughout the audit process.- Responded to the 2020 COVID Pandemic, leading a cross-functional team of specialists to review contracts, draft amendments and liaise with vendors to move systems online and enable remote learning.- Led the team's approach to the Digital Platform project, doing licensing migration and contractual amendments to successfully support Curtin's migration of 1500 servers to cloud through the 7R approach.- Conducted a full scale review of Curtin's Budgeting and SAM systems, leading the process to assess, tender for and replace all existing systems with the SNOW Technology Intelligence Platform.- Mentored a team of Software Asset Specialists to improve their negotiation skills, drive fiscal efficiency and enable Curtin's reinvestment in digital transformation and improved student learning experiences.- Worked with multiple higher education consortiums to drive procurement approaches across the sector.
