  Investigating the biological implications of marine renewable energy sources, my role involved site selection and desk based studies for potential marine renewable energy sites in the Bristol Channel, Ramsey Sound in West Wales and the Skerries in Anglesey. Once a site was selected I designed and implemented the biological surveys required. This entailed acquisition of rental equipment and local survey vessels of opportunity as well as assembling a small team. I have also completed successful subcontracting projects of a similar nature for APEM in the Bristol Channel and SwanTurbines at the EMEC test site in the Orkney Islands.   Responsible for the day to day running of in-field operations, managing a small team of surveyors, operators and processers to ensure that the survey is conducted in accordance with the job specifications and that data meets the required standards. I am responsible for compiling the mobilisation and calibration reports and ensuring that clients are kept updated on the survey progress. On return to the UK office I am charged with the data handover to the office processors and in contributing to the report of survey. In field I also process the raw LiDAR data to IHO standards under an ISO 9001:2008 accredited structures.
