  • Advise and guide the site manager to achieve overall compliance with the Environmental Permit and other relevant environmental legislation.• Ensure monitoring is undertaken to schedule and reports submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Permit to the Environment Regulator. • Report non-conformances against environmental requirements using appropriate notification procedures. Investigate, set up action plans and support close out any such non-conformances.• Liaise with the Environment Agency on matters of compliance and support operations at Environment Agency Liaison meetings to ensure a trusting and working relationship is maintained.• Maintain compliance with BS 14181• Maintain accreditation to ISO 14001, drive continuous improvements in environmental management on site through developing management of site specific environmental procedures. • Support internal and external system and EA OMA audits as required, ensuring any NCR’s are closed out.• Review the IMS environment impacts and aspects register for the facility. • Provide information/guidance on environmental matters to all levels of FCC Environment personnel at the facility and within the SHEQ department.• Review environmental data and trends to identify areas for improvements within the operation of the facility reporting any limit breaches. • Provide environmental advice to Estates on EfW permit and planning applications, drafts, appeals and variations specific to the site(s). • Co-ordination of consultants and contractors working on environmental aspects at site(s). • Log and respond to complaints, ensuring there is an action plan and issue is closed out as required as per the companies systems. • Support Investigations and prepare reports on environmental events and incidents. Show less Manage Environmental compliance of landfill and recycling facilities across the Company’s Southwest region sites Bletchley and Calvert always looking to improve levels of compliance and operational efficiencies. To manage the relationship with the regulator, and through negotiation and influence, ensure that the Company’s best interests are represented with regards Environmental Permits and their reporting and monitoring regimes. Through management of an Environment Technician ensure that all site environmental monitoring is carried out in an efficient and safe manner in compliance with the site’s Environmental Permits and Company’s general duty of care, budget and any other environmental requirements. To ensure that leachate is managed and controlled in an efficient, safe and cost effective manner in compliance with the Company’s duty of care, permit, budget and environmental requirements. To liaise with operations management, engineering and environmental staff to ensure that leachate treatment plants and disposal methods are developed according to the needs and nature of each landfill site. To assist site management in developing site-specific leachate management plans that include the relevant financial and environmental appraisals to deliver the most cost effective disposal of leachate. Report and action breaches of assessment, control and trigger levels.
