I have specialised as an ecologist. Next to that, I have also filled the requirements for the adaptation tract and the sustainability certificate. I finished my bachelors with a research to assess the hoverfly biodiversity on campus, in order to assess the quality of the IPC groene ruimte "Meetlat biodiversiteit in de praktijk" along the lines of which our biodiversity can be more precisely improved.

Master of Science - MS Adaptive Organisms

In my Master Biology (Adaptive Organisms) I have specialised further in both Ecology and Physiology. During my first internship I identified all flying insects up to order level (somtimes a little more specific). Additionally, I foccussed on the hoverflies (Syrphidae), whom I identified up to species level. This family within the flies is very diverse as larvae, telling something about the locations where these insects were caught. In my second internship I have studied caddisflies… Show more In my Master Biology (Adaptive Organisms) I have specialised further in both Ecology and Physiology. As adults, these insects somewhat resemble butterflies or moths (Lepidoptera). However, unlike catterpillars are the larvae of caddisflies aquatic. Additionally, these larvae are interesting as bioindicators. As they are relatively sensitive to pollution, they can reveal information about the system in which they live. In my research, I have subjected them to heat stress. In this way, predictions can be made about the populations in the future subjected to climate warming Show less
