      International Logistics Manager

Working as an International Logistics Manager for the largest e-commerce platform with the biggest fulfilment centre required extensive planning, organising and communication. My responsibilities were similar to IMCC, with notable differences in the importing aspect. Duties included:• Importing from Europe, Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Lebanon, and the UAE. • Liaising with a formed network consisting of a 3P consolidation centre in Vienna, Digikala fulfilment centre, international freight forwarders, local hauliers, and customs brokers in Austria, and Iran. • Ensuring goods were received into the company’s fulfilment centre.• Handling annual shipments of more than 400k pieces of luxury or casual fashion items from 117 international brands, across 13 different countries.• Successfully negotiating with authorities to grant Digikala an exemption to import apparel without any obligation to manufacture brands in the country. This gave the company a substantial competitive advantage that allowed the company to continue its growth. • Creating a decision support system in collaboration with the commercial department to decide the best shipment method based on historical data of each brand’s sales performance. • Decreasing the average total logistics overhead from 41% to 28% of the total goods value with low sales drops. International Logistics Manager

As an International Logistics Manager for the Fashion Department, it was essential to execute proficient communication, analytical thinking, accuracy, and organisational skills to carry out my duties effectively. My remit involved: • Planning, implementing, leading and optimising an international network for importing apparel from different countries including China, Thailand, India, Turkey, UAE, EU and the UK. • Liaising with a consolidation centre in Istanbul Free Zone, a 3P warehouse in Jebel Ali (UAE), a central warehouse in Tehran, 59 retail stores, international freight forwarders, local hauliers, customs brokers in Turkey, UAE and Iran. • Managing the proactive planning and negotiating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and people from all levels to control all stock movement from the suppliers’ warehouses (EXW) up to stores and ensure the deadlines are met. This required the shipments to arrive on-time, in-full, with the logistics costs optimised.• Deciding on the best shipping method based on costs, lead time, shipment’s value, product launch timelines, smooth customs clearance procedures, and organising import shipments by air, sea, road, or multi-modal freights. Implementing improvement in supply chain management strategies and procedures, appraising, defining and monitoring KPIs to achieve operational excellence.• Liaising with authorities, monitoring changes in customs and international affairs. This also included adhering with formalities and respecting the logistics activities' regulations.• Playing an integral role in establishing a company-owned consolation centre in Istanbul FTZ, and contracting a third party warehouse in Jebel Ali• Reducing the discrepancies to purchase orders from 97% to 99.5% in one year.
