Most of my work was done on a ropes and challenge course, focusing on team building and safely stepping out of your comfort zone. Also a certified lifeguard during this time and often responsible for the safety of the children while in the water.

Apr 2014 - Dec 2019As assistant pool manager for the Kiawah Island Beach Club, I have a wide range of responsibilities first and foremost being the happiness and enjoyment of our members. More specifically I help schedule our 25 to 30 pool attendants at various stations around our three pools and on our beach during the day, so we have proper coverage for our members. It is a delicate balancing act learning which members of staff work best together and how each individual's strengths can be utilized into a team effort to maximize the enjoyment of our guests. I also help to run and operate the pools to ensure that all filters and pumps are properly working, and the chemical levels of our three pools are up to the standards of the Department of Health and Environmental Control. During my time in this role I have also taken on some of the administrative responsibilities of running a department such placing orders with vendors, filing check requests, and assisting with the payroll. During the day I am constantly communicating between our members and guests, pool staff, and the food and beverage staff of The Beach Club to ensure all members and guests, as well as our whole staff is well taken care of. During this time I earned an award for employee of the quarter for the Kiawah Partners for the Fall quarter of 2015. Show less As a pool attendant for the Kiawah Island Beach Club my number one job was to see that our members and guests and an enjoyable and relaxing experience with us. My specific responsibilities included setting up and breaking down our beach at the beginning and end of each day. During the main Summer months of June, July, and August, this consisted two to three hundred chairs and seventy-five to one-hundred-fifty umbrellas each day. During the day as a pool attendant I carried towels and lead members and guests to their seats around one of our three pools and our beach, and helping our members with anything else they may need during their stay with us. Also in the category of food, it is my duty in the evenings to create delicious and beautiful appetizer plates for members and guests who wish to eat.
