      Assisted with study to determine alterations of joint fluid following a joint injury. This study discovered a time-dependent relationship between hyaluronan concentration and joint fluid lubrication function. Aseptically prepared samples of human tissue and fluids for biochemical analyses. Performed ELISAs to determine hyaluronan concentration of human and horse joint fluids. Performed agarose gel electrophoresis and Western Blot to determine size and concentrations of lubricating molecules, proteoglycan-4 and hyaluronan in joint fluids. Performed biomechanical tests to determine lubricant properties of joint fluid. Trained new volunteers and assisted with any experiment prep work resulting in increased lab productivity. Show less
