Using PowerFactory, I crafted a program for optimized activation and designed enticing time-variable tariff models for homeowners.🌐 Staying Connected:From Jacksonville, I ensured my research resonated with the dynamic electricity market in Germany/Europe, powered by my drive for innovation and knowledge.📚 Dissertation on Grid-Serving Flexibility of Households by 2030:Focused on the pivotal year 2030, as Germany progresses towards climate neutrality, I analyzed Germany’s energy framework. My investigation centered on the grid implications of assimilating 137 GW PV capacity, 5.1 million heat pumps, and 14.5 million electric vehicles.🔑Dissertation Highlights:📈Grid Impact by 2030:In scenarios with uncontrolled operated heat pumps, electric vehicles, and battery storages, predictions revealed an 18% increase in Germany's low voltage grid line construction, added 174 GVA to transformer capacity, 24 billion dollars for low voltage grid enhancements, and solar curtailments around 260 GWh/a.Flexibility Potential of Households:Full activation in households could slash line construction by 81%, transformer capacity by 86%, and grid investments by 66%.Utilization before Limitation:This approach may tap into 60% of typically curtailed solar energy.40% Household Participation:At this participation level reflecting Germany's current heat pump and EV tariff quota, grid investments could reduce by 42% compared to non-optimized setups.Homeowner Savings:Those offering flexibility might save $108 per year, potentially doubling with optimized electricity pricing structures.In essence, my work showcased the power of grid-serving flexibility of households for the energy transition.
