As Operations Officer, I support the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria in the implementation of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme to facilitate achievement of the Programme Development Objectives. I offer technical support in the Areas of Operational Processes, Social Transfer, Labour Intensive Public Workfare, Livelihood Support Grant, Basic Services, Gender-Based Violence and Vulnerability, Social and Environmental Safeguards, Grievance Redress Mechanism, Monitoring and Evaluation, Stakeholder Engagement, Events and Conference Management. NG-CARES is a World Bank Assisted Programme for Results (PforR) that seeks to expand access to Livelihood Support, Food Security, and Grants for Poor and Vulnerable Households and Firms. This is done under 3 Results Areas, (RAs) across 11 Disbursement-Linked Indicators, (DLIs).NG-CARES is an intervention that is built on the platforms of successful Projects of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the World Bank such as National Cash Transfer (NCT), Youth Employment and Social Support Operations (YESSO), Community and Social Development Project (CSDP), National Fadama Development Programme (NFDP), and Government Enterprise & Empowerment Programme (GEEP). It is an emergency Operation designed to support a budgeted programme of expenditure and interventions at the State level - targeting existing and emerging vulnerable and poor households, farmers, and micro and small entrepreneurs affected by the economic crisis engendered by the COVID-19 crisis, loss of livelihood as a result of violent conflicts, insecurity, flooding and the harsh realities of the local economy.
