Proposed topic: "Black tides and coastal pollution: The "Chapapote" a recurring theme".The main idea of the project was to search for an organic substance, potato juice, that can be used to clean up stones impregnated with tar. The reaction between the hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) with the enzyme catalase from the potato juice, reacts breaking down the molecule of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) into oxygen (O₂) and hydrogen (H₂). The oxygen bubbles are placed between the stone and the layer of tar, causing it to separate. This way, the tar comes out, leaving the stone clean.The name of the project was "I en el seu últim sospir va dir: 'NUNCA MÁIS'". The title comes from the story of a hermit who died from sadness due to an environmental catastrophe that arose from the accident of the oil tanker Prestige off the coast of Galicia in 2001.
