      Study “Facilitators and Barriers to Midwifery Preceptorship in California” with Dr. Amara Miller, Dr. Wallis Adams and Anya Rapoport MSN, CNM, WHNPFunded by California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) Grant ($5750), California Nurse Midwives Foundation (CNMF), and with institutional support from the California Nurse-Midwives Association (CNMA).IRB approval was obtained in December 2023 from CSUEB, with a modification approved in June 2023.IRB training in Human SubjectsKey research questions include “What factors facilitate the ability of midwives to precept midwifery students? What barriers do practicing midwives face in precepting students?”Trained in interview transcription and qualitative data analysis, specifically coding.Assisted with transcription of 12 interview participants with precepting experiences as well as (ongoing) interviews with midwives who choose not to precept.Collaborated with research team to develop initial set of emergent codes and engage in data analysis of interview transcripts.Contributed to literature review research and write up of initial report on findings for CHCF in September 2024.
